板橋區公所3日於6樓禮堂舉行「103年板橋區模範母親表揚活動」，27位有著感人故事的模範母親，在主持人以機長之姿出場揭開序幕，現場邀請到克萊妮單簧管四重奏團獻上「愛的真諦」等多首動人歌曲向在場母親致敬。立委林鴻池、議員張宏陸、劉美芳、周勝考、王淑慧、林水山等到場祝賀，並熱心贊助賀匾及禮品，另慈惠宮、接雲寺等單位也提供豐富的禮品為媽媽們獻上祝福。

板橋區公所指出，今年板橋區模範母親除了具有傳統的慈母形象外，更增加了愛的避風港媽媽、母愛無國界媽媽，以及照顧身障子女的生命勇者媽媽等，例如林艷虹女士在6年前投入寄養家庭行列，成為過動兒的避風港；王月勤女士多年來捐助許多貧困兒童營養午餐費，近年亦跨國協助緬甸小學興建校舍、越南孤兒院設立，投入的心力與精力令人敬佩。
